Wow did I have fun. I just came in from sledding on our hill. It was so much fun. The snow is really deep so as you can see when you’re little like me you have to be really careful or you fall headfirst into a snowbank.
Here’s a picture of Mum and I going down the hill. This is so FUN!.

Since this is the first time my sister-in-law Carmen and niece Sara have seen snow they had a really good time playing in it. Carmen helped me make the snowman so Pop took a picture of her and my brother Erik and me.

My brother and Sister-In-Law and niece finally got to our house. We are having so much fun. We went shopping at the Mall, went out to a restaurant for dinner and this afternoon we are going sledding on my Mum’s and Pop’s hill. I’m going to take some pictures and I’ll tell you more about that later today.
Me, my brother and my Mum made Oli Balls yesterday. I remember my Grandma making those a long time ago. She told me that they used to make them a long long time ago in the Netherlands for New Years Eve to keep the evil spirits away. I don’t think there are evil spirits so I think she was joking but it’s a funny story to tell anyhow.
We got a great big snow storm and my brother and sister-in-law had a really bad time driving back from my sister’s house yesterday. Mum and I stayed home and babysat my niece Sara. She was so good and didn’t hardly cry at all. I think she likes to play with me.
Now I’m going outside to slide on the hill.

I love, love, love Christmas cookies. Or maybe it’s just the part about making the cookies.
Last Saturday, my Mum, my Aunt, my Cousin and her friend all got together at my Aunts house to make Christmas cookies. This is the second year we got to do this. Mum said this year it was time to have it at my Aunts house. Mum said it took her three days to get the kitchen cleaned up after we were done last year.
First we had to go grocery shopping to buy all of the stuff we’d need for the cookie recipes. Mum said that by the time she spent all of the money for ingredients it probably would have been cheaper to just buy the cookies already made but I said “no way”. All of the fun is being together and having fun.

So we packed up everything in a big box and off we went. As you can see I got into position to make sure nothing fell out of the box. Oh the smells were starting already.
My cousin Allison organized this so she said that each person had to make at least 3-4 different kind of cookies. Mum let me pick out the recipes so I picked out a chocolate cookie that we rolled in powered sugar, thumbprint cookies that I filled with Raspberry jam, a coconut macaroon cookies that had caramel and chocolate on them and a caramel, chocolate kind of bar. As you’ve probably guessed my favorite thing is chocolate.
Allison’s friend Maggie is now a new friend of mine. I really liked baking cookies with her. She’s nice and she worked really hard, except she kept spilling flour on the floor (just kidding Maggie).

As you can see by the pictures, when we were done we had lots of cookies to take home. I plan to share at least one tray with my friends when they come tomorrow to play chess.

Like I said I just love Christmas cookies. Next year it’s at my other Aunts house.
I hate winter – hate it, hate it, hate it. There’s nothing to do except try to keep warm.
Luckily Pop and Mum have a fire place. That’s where I spend most of my days. Luckily I had Mum bring my garden friends into the house and we can spend a lot of the long days playing checkers and telling stories. Mum even let Moe (my friend the elephant) come in the house for the winter. Mum says he can stay in the house all winter as long as he doesn’t poop on the floor.
Yesterday we had the worst snow storm – even Mum and Pop had to stay home from work. Mum and I made some Christmas cookies and wrapped some presents. We’re trying to get everything special around the house because my brother, sister-in-law and my newest niece are coming for Christmas. I can hardly wait. I haven’t seen my brother since I went to Ecuador with him last spring.
Did I tell you that Pop, Mum and me are going to Florida in February to visit my brother? Mum says if the weather cooperates we get to take the Mustang. Right after Christmas I going to start shopping for a Hawaiian shirt and sun glasses. I can already see myself laying out on a lounge chair by the beach working on my tan.
So, getting back to the snow storm. Pop had to blow out the drive two times. He says I’m to little to help him. The snowbanks are way over my head. That’s OK because I don’t have a winter coat or a scarf. I probably should put that on my Christmas list but I’d rather have something I can wear in the warm weather. Besides I have something else I’d really like for Christmas. A guitar. I’ve never play one before but I think I could if I practiced a lot. And besides what else can I do until winter is over?
